Comment: The turnaround in 2Q #’s were far better then most of us expected.
 
TKN
TKN reported 2Q16 net profit of Bt184.7mn, growth of 146.40% and 1H16 net profit of Bt345.3mn, up 173.50%, driven by more revenue from abroad. It will pay an interim dividend of Bt0.19/share, XD on Aug 22. (Kao Hoon, 11/08/16)
Comment: Who would’ve thunked that seaweed would be the rip roaring business that TKN is.
 
TPCH
TPCH expects 3Q16 net profit to be good driven by biomass power plants (Mahachai and Tung Song). It expects this to lead to high performance for at least next five quarters. It expects to get more PPA in the south. Its 6M16 net profit was Bt81.46mn. (Thun Hoon, 11/08/16)
Comment: It does look like they are trying to acquiring additional plants to avoid having to wait more PPA’s from the government
