JMT
JMT plans to acquire Bt20bn bad debt this year which will increase its total bad debt portfolio to Bt100bn. It expects 2016 revenue to grow 30% with 20% growth in net profit. It targets consumer loans of Bt1bn. It expects to get a license to provide loans in Myanmar by mid- 2016. (Thun Hoon, 08/01/16)
Comment: What is interesting here is how earnings are recognised, if you have a close look you’ll understand.

MAJOR
MAJOR expects 2016 earnings of Bt1.27mn (+22%) on the back of 80 new screens that were opened last year. It plans to add 75 screens this year. It expects to benefit from the many movies in the lineup. It plans to expand to CLMV. (Thun Hoon, 08/01/16)
Comment: They will dominate CLMV without a doubt, it will be an effective monopoly in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam if they wanted to.

NCH
NCH expects 2016 revenue of Bt2bn backed by Bt1bn presold and Bt700mn transfers. It plans to launch three low-rise projects valued at Bt3bn. It targets presales of Bt2.6bn. (Khao Hoon, 08/01/16)

Comment: And they are now offering people a payment plan for their meals….is the Thai consumer so in debt that they can’t afford a meal anymore and require a payment plan?

PCA
PCA expects 2016 earnings to grow 30%. It plans to set up a new office and launch Bt70mn in new projects in Myanmar. It plans to introduce new products and services on high speed Internet in 2H16. It expects 2015 net profit to mark a record high. (Thun Hoon, 08/01/16)

TPOLY

Comment: I do love the business, but I do not like the odd trading patterns in the stock price.

TVT
TVT expects to complete its M&A by 1Q16, and expects this to boost growth. It targets 2016 revenue growth of 20%. It is budgeting Bt200-300mn to buy TV programs. (Thun Hoon, 08/01/16)
Comment: I’ve always wondered why this company has yet to show a proper consistent profit despite its continuous growth in revenue.
