COMAN
COMAN believes 2H17 performance will be good, driven by revenue from “Synergy Technology” and high season. The management team signals that there are M&A deals. It is now ready to be a leader in development of tourism software. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/17)
KTC
KTC 2Q17 earnings are Bt786mn or Bt3.05/share or 35.66% YoY growth. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: Just amazing what they are accomplishing, and the new BOT’s regulations while negative for KTC won’t necessarily kill their growth.
MC
MC to expand by adding 20-25 stores nationwide and abroad. It expects sales will grow higher than 10% with gross margin of 50%. It is ready to negotiate with dealers to be sales representatives in CLMV. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: I was surprised by the movement in share price especially given that their numbers still don’t justify it. But the company has expanded their product line to include cosmetics/beauty products which are high margin and less of a burden on workingcapital/inventory
MCOT
MCOT has no policy to give back 2600 MHz since it needs this frequency for future use. If the NBTC is going to take it back, it must pay compensation for business opportunity loss. (Khao Hoon, 19/7/17)
ORI
ORI management team signals 2Q17 revenue will grow around 130%, driven by sales from Proud Residence that also raised backlog to Bt25bn. (Khao Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: And 2018 will drop by…?
PTT
PTT is signing a contract to buy 10% of Petronas’s LPG producer in Malaysia within 3Q17. It expects the deal to create LPG convergence and value-added chain. It plans to issue the documents for bidding for gas pipeline line 5 phase 2 by August. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: I would love to know if the anti-corruption teams from Thailand and Malaysia would look into this deal and report any “findings”, wishful thinking I know…
PTTEP
PTTEP acknowledges receipt of documents from Indonesia. PTTEP says it has received the Statement of Claim filed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia seeking approximately USD 2.1 billion in damages. The company will proceed to defend against this lawsuit. ( SET , 1 8 /7/17)
RML
RML targets 2020 revenue of Bt13-15bn. It expects 2017 revenue to be Bt3-4bn. It is starting to sell “The Loft Silom” worth Bt3.5bn in 23 July. (Khao Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: Well, no.
RS
RS rebrands “Cool Fahrenheit” as “Coolism 4.0 beyond” in order to expand its customer base both online and offline. It targets 2017 revenue of Bt515mn. (Khao Hoon, 19/7/17)
TCAP
TCAP posts 2Q17 earnings of Bt1.67bn, +14%YoY. NPL ratio fell to 2.26%, allowing lower provisions. (Khao Hoon, 19/7/17)
Comment: The issue for TCAP going forward is whether they can actually demonstrate loan growth. They were good in decreasing NPL’s and provision in 2015/2016, buying back shares and this is why their 2H16 – 1H17 #’s have looked great relative to its peers. But for next year they may actually have to do business versus accounting.
TMILL
TMILL says 3Q17 performance will be outstanding due to high season and higher wheat prices. Management believes that 4Q17 performance will be a record high, hopefully giving 2017 revenue and earnings growth of 20%. It is now negotiating joint venture deals. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/17)
