  1. Hi Pon.

I own SVI shares and recently they have been placed on the MSCI Small Cap list of companies. In your opinion, how will this new listing affect the share price of SVI or affect the shares? Any information you can give is appreciated as I don’t know the full possibility of shares being put on this list means.

    • Hi Tony,

In a nutshell, asset management/fund management firms globally have products that mimic the MSCI Indices thus when there are changes in the composition of the indices (co’s in/out) the firms have to adjust the holdings in their products as well, thus over the next few weeks one shouldn’t be surprised to see increased volume within a stock such as SVI. A following on question would be if this would cause the stock price to shoot up, normally not, as the traders executing the orders have to aim to remain at or below the VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price) of the day for the specific stock.

      Hope it helps.
