Comment: The key thing that most investors look at here is the growth of its dividend, and once (or if) the NBTC gets its act together we could see ADVANC growing its dividends at a 15-20% p.a. again.

CKP expects best quarterly earnings in 3Q14 on more electricity generation from Nam Ngum 2 dam due to the rainy season. The company targets revenue of Bt7bn, +30% YoY in 2014, and plans to set up solar power plants of 100MW capacity in the next 1-2 years. CSS to conclude purchase of IT firm before end-2014, which will start revenue contribution in 2015. Management expects to set up Thai and Japanese power plants soon. FORTH
FORTH to report sharp earnings growth in 3Q14 QoQ after it booked revenue from a large project and from set-top box sales. Management confirms revenue of Bt5bn in 2014 as the telecommunications sector is growing. GRAMMY
Showbiz set for year-end turnaround – Show business and concert organisers are planning a string of cool-season events, many of which were postponed from earlier this year because of political turmoil. Yuthana Boonorm, managing director for the show business unit at GMM Grammy Plc, said the business would be revived by festive celebrations and numerous concerts in the last two months of the year. Comment: I’ve heard they have hired an international investment banking firm to begin selling it’s infrastructure fund – likely to be completed by 1Q15. Though with a lawsuit still spending will the SEC actually approve it?

PF reported 3Q14 net profit of Bt313mn, up 409% YoY, supported by strong revenue growth, with revenue increasing 52% YoY to Bt4.16bn, and higher gross margin of 34%. Its board has approved the sale of 20.32% shares of KLAND to GOLD worth more than Bt720mn. It expects to book the gains 4Q14. (Kao Hoon, 07/11/14)
Comment: Rumours abound that PF is looking to do a PP (private placement) to raise capital because they don’t have the necessary funding in place to complete its projects.

SMART
SMART reports a surge in 3Q14 net profit of 530% YoY to Bt19.53mn, lifting 9M14 net profit 315% YoY to Bt40.83mn. The jump was driven by higher production capacity in tandem with lower fuel and financial costs. (Kao Hoon, 07/11/14)

TPCH
TPCH to go on road show with Trinity Securities in four provinces starting Nov 7-14. It is confident that feedback will be good in response to the company’s strong fundamentals and potential growth outlook. It plans to use the proceeds to expand its business. UAC
UAC bio power plant with capacity of 1MW receives a power purchase agreement. Therefore the company expects to start booking revenue from this plant at the beginning of 2015. The company plans to invest in two more projects. It expects the energy business to continue to grow and help lead earnings to a turnaround next year. (Kao Hoon, 07/11/14)

  1. Ref UAC Does this company still own a big chunk of HYDRO. What do they propose to do with this investment, Take Over or ditch. When will revenues come from the Chiang Mai sewage bio gas facility.

    • UAC doesn’t hold a stake in HYDRO

      They have together set up a company to focus on water projects, but nothing has happened there yet.

      I don’t know off the top of my head when UAC will begin to recognise #’s

      • Oh I thought that a merger was on the cards, dropped in May last year and that UAC had bought a significant stake in HYDRO at that time. Regrettably I still hold a large number of shares in HYDRO and am looking for an exit point. Maybe I should take the hit and move on.
