DTAC unfazed by more 4G competition — The country’s second-largest mobile operator shrugged off increased competition from its rivals, saying that Advanced Info Service (AIS) and True Move will also face high licensing-based fourth-generation (4G) spectrum costs similar to DTAC’s. GUNKUL has backlog of Bt1.5-1.6bn. It expects to get more jobs to construct solar farms. It expects 2016 revenue growth of 20-30%. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: Quite the drop in backlog for GUNKUL but because they already have invested and built/are completing their projects I don’t think management quite cares to focus on new projects .
 
JWD
JWD and JB TRADING are setting up a JV to develop a warehouse in Laos which has area of 3,200sqm and total cost of Bt75mn. It expects to finish and book revenue in 2017. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)

KCM
KCM expects to maintain its net profit margin at 7-10% due to lower raw material price and cost control. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5/16)
KKP
KKP expects loan recovery in 2Q16 from -1.2% in 1Q16 thanks to continued growth in corporate loans. It plans to bid for Bt11bn in loans for BTS. It will keep 2016 NPLs at below 4.5%. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5 /16)
Comment: Looked in this one a bit more and still nothing really attractive.
 
LPN
LPN targets launch of five new projects in 2016 in total worth Bt2.9bn. Recent launches include a Bt400mn townhouse project, for which 60% is already sold. It plans to launch four more projects worth Bt2.5bn. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: The fear in the market is that they don’t have enough backlog on hand to cover 2017 
 
NCH
NCH is confident that it will turn to profit after 1Q16 reported a net loss of Bt12.26mn due to more transfers. It maintains its 2016 revenue target at Bt2bn with sales of Bt2.6bn from launching three new projects worth Bt3bn. It will focus on the high-end market. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5/16)
PTG
PTG expects profit in 2016 to be over Bt1bn, growing 68% from 2015. It targets sale of oil of 3,000mn liters and expansion of its stations to 1,500. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: Don’t forget that PTG had a rather poor 2015 because of one weak quarter hence the great YoY %’s
 
PTTEP
PTTEP is confident that 2016 earnings will show a profit as it will record no impairment of assets and will control costs. It has cash of US$3.3bn. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)
SOLAR
Solartron revises quarterly loss – Solartron Plc (SOLAR) says its double-error corrections in its financial statements for the January-to-March quarter have resulted in a much smaller net loss in quarterly earnings. (Bangkok Post, 25/5/16)
Comment: Well..ok…still a dodgy company.
 
SPCG
SPCG expects 2Q16 to continue to grow. It is confident that 2016 revenue will hit target of Bt5.5bn. It expects to conclude a solar farm deal in 2Q16-3Q16. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: And yes all correct and by 2017 growth will flatline but it will be generating a decent amount of CF.
 
TOP
TOP expects 2Q16 earnings to be good after it brought a 90MW thermal power plant on line and will add another 90MW in early June. It has budgeted Bt10bn to support its three-year investment plan. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5/16)
TRU
TRU expects 2Q16 earnings to recover from first quarter, supported by continued government projects. It is confident 2016 revenue will hit its target of 8-10% to reach Bt2.4bn. It plans to increase revenue from abroad. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: As much as I admire the CEO, I doubt the automotive sector will recover this year, maybe by 2018 at best.
 
VNG
VNG expects 2Q16 to be good after gaining more orders for MDF and particle boards. It expects 3Q16 continue to be good supported by more orders for high-margin products. It expects to get the PPA for a 20MW biomass power plant, which will bring revenue of Bt1bn per year. It plans to build a 200MW power plant in the future. ( Thun Hoon, 25/5/16)
Comment: Theres been a lot of shareholders buying shares in the market.
