AUCT adjusts strategy by selling vehicle engines to be used in tractors and other agricultural needs, supported by demand from farmers as the price is 40-50% below the cost of a vehicle. Comment: They have the distribution ready, they have been auctioning cars for years, this is just another product through their list of products that they can collect a fee on for selling with no inventory risk.

EGCO

To bid in Australia — EGCO will bid for a 30-40MW wind power plant in Australia, to be completed in late 2014. It is negotiating to buy a 100-200MW coal power plant in Indonesia. (ASTV Manager, 22/07/14)

NNCL

NNCL talking with 3-4 Japanese and 2 Thai clients on possible land sales. It plans to close a deal to sell more than 70-80 rai of land in Pathum Thani within the next two months. It now expects a profit turnaround this year after the BoI began approving projects, although revenue will be lower than last year’s. It plans to propose a capital increase plan to its board to get the funds develop a new industrial estate next year. (Kao Hoon, 22/07/14)

N-PARK

N-PARK share price surged by 28.57% to hit ceiling at Bt0.09/share on news of a turnaround in its business after the company posted a loss in the first quarter. The company said that the company’s performance this year will be better than last year’s, supported by more transfers from its property project, along with a land sale deal that is expected to be concluded in August. SIRI

SIRI says condo demand strong near transit lines. Presales for SARI By Sansiri reached Bt800mn thanks to interest by both Thais and foreigners. It expects to launch 13 projects worth Bt23.6bn in 2H14. (Tun Hoon, 22/07/14)

TISCO

TISCO eyes rebound after rough first half – Tisco Financial Group, the parent of Tisco Bank, is warning of a lower net profit this year due largely to the stuttering first-half economy and a sharp decline in domestic car sales. Despite the improved second-half economic view, Tisco expects loans outstanding to shrink by 2-3% this year. (Bangkok Post, 22/07/14)

UMI

UMI says that institutional and big retail investors bought its entire corporate bond. It aims to use the money for debt repayment and business expansion. CEO Paweena is confident that the property market will be active in 2H14, boosting its revenue to more than Bt4bn. (Khao Hoon, 22/07/14)
