Well, I think in time the investor-idiots will be the ones which do not now pick-up for investment, high quality proven & long established companies with ultra high dividends, way off the radar screens of brokers and traders alike and never reviewed by the/any biz. press! Its also telling that, at last, the Thai SEC has officially announced much stricter enforcement and punishment to the ones which not follow the rules or worse, or are rogue by nature. The real sad/telling story here is how traders and speculators saw DELTA (their favored) loose some 30 Bill US$ in mkt. value in just the past 6 months or so. Showing yet again how most of the time and time, traders and speculators loose…and often never come back. So a detriment for the stock exchange as well as for brokers.

It’s a Mess that there’s no proper Dividend ETF available in Thailand as an easy way to invest in Dividend Shares in Thailand.
The only one available is extremely expensive with over 1,8% fee if calculated all Expenses and more worrisome they even not pay out Dividends for some Year as they must to report their Financial Statement like a Company. So if they make a Paper loss ( for example as the NAV Shrinks ) they not allowed to pay Dividends.
Probably the one and only Dividend ETF without Dividends for some Years ( Amazing Thailand 😂)
While the Dividend index come over 6% Yield the ETF constantly ranges between 0 and max 3% .
Hope that this will change

market cap weighting…perhaps this is a good ETF idea to launch…

No need to go the stale ETF route. Its fairly easy with a competent/responsible Mkt. officer to identify a diversified high/quality dividend paying SET/MAI port. companies here….ha, I for long have stated in viewing exactly that -and chose my pruned list -which I share at my free site. Now mega-galore BKK condo buyers are enduring a real down-fall with all their property obsessions. As well, as the SET and its brokers could have made a big difference in advocating responsible investing here, then this just this “play of the day”, nonsense…especially in a bear market. DELTA horror not withstanding.

Follow the incentive…a commission based business model naturally results in churning.

Ok, so does a pharmacist just punt drugs regardless of merit -or a Doc. only/mostly recommend what makes most money for him?
A mkt.Officer which regularly turns investors into traders in little time has neither one left. As is now the case with that reasoning biz. model.

In some parts of the world – yes

“–Never play poker with a man named Doc.,
–Never eat at a restaurant called the Greasy Spoon
–Never trade a bear market.”
Old Wall Street saying/proverb.

Most traders, it’s been amply proven especially in bear or stale markets, loose over time. Investors seduced into trading even more so as they make all the classic mistakes. I.e. selling out ones’ winners while holding-on to losers…and not using stop loss orders, etc. So in time loosing both traders and investors while both may end up bad-mouthing the SET and brokers, stocks etc… “burned once, twice shy”. Hence a real stupid business model !
