BGRIM acquires 97% stake in Philippine solar power pcdr (Caronsi Solar Energy Corp) undertaking & developing 65mw solar project.

Comment: The Philippines is the best example of a country that is controlled by 10 families and a group of corrupt politicians and civil servants. An unpopular opinion I have is that Duterte was fantastic for the Philippines. Back to BGRIM – yeah great, the amusing issue there is that it’ll be up to BGRIM to ensure that the solar project can connect to the grid, i.e. electricity lines and what not have to be built by the power company – not by the government (which is the case in Thailand and most of the world…)

CPALL to sell AA- rating CD, paying 2.9% p.a.under 4yr & 10 months duration, open subscription for existing CD holders on May 28-30 & public on Jun 25-27.

Comment: How ridiculous is this rate? Thai corporates such as CPALL should be paying 5-7%, POS companies should at teen’s. This a function of the asset management industry here where a serious % of fixed income capital is forced to stay domestic.

RATCH divests 51% stake (28.05m share) in Siam Infranet (SIC) to International Gateway Co, transaction to be completed within Jun.

STECON keeps Bt32b FY revenue target despite registered Bt6.4b in 1Q, driven by Bt125b o/s backlog, expects Bt50b worth of new project sign this year after logged Bt18b year-to-date, sees upside in 2Q&3Q as company, not need to bear losses from Yellow & Pink line MRT & absence of costs incurred from the repair of Nong Bon water drainage tunnel project, dividend from GULF and solar project propel earnings.

Comment: It’s annoying that this may actually be a decent play at the moment…

TRUE reports cod-ed of AI Hyperscale Data Center, will participate in license auction to use 850MHz, 1,500 MHz, 2,100MHz and 2,300MHz frequencies bands for international mobile telcos services, application to be submitted on May 29.

Comment: Part of me thinks that GULF & ADVANC are playing a great game attacking TRUE…..
