BANPU plans to acquire 2-3 shale gas companies in the US. It expects a deal to be sealed in 3Q17-4Q17. It expects this year to be good, with higher coal price, now average US$65-70/ton in Indonesia. SMIT
SMIT expects robust earnings in 2Q17 on the back of large orders from the agro-industry and consumer products. It recently got hardening projects for aircraft parts with a high margin of 70%. Comment: I used to love the idea of manufacturers when I started in this industry, but after working for 1 for 12 months I realised its an awful business model, but doesn’t mean one can’t do well at the right price.

SRICHA
SRICHA continues to take part in bidding expected to be announced this year and next with a total value of Bt2bn. It recently negotiated for four projects at home and abroad. It reported 1Q17 net profit of Bt19.4mn, up 165%. (Thun Hoon, 23/05/17)

UV targets 2017 revenue growth of 10% from last year’s Bt17.36bn. It plans to launch 24 projects with total value of Bt25.5bn. It targets presales of Bt16.5bn.
