ADVANC

Expects 33mn 3G users this year — ADVANC says it expects its 3G clients to reach 33mn in 2014. Its vision is to make the company the “Digital Life Service Provider” within three years. It will continue expanding its digital content business and expand base stations to reach 20,000 this year. It also said that the delay in the 4G auction will have no affect on the company. Comment: There is no reason why ADVANC should not maintain it’s status as the #1 telco in Thailand, they have the customer base, they have the financial strength, they have the necessary infrastructure to continue growing.

AIRA

AIRA expects to be traded at more than Bt1 per share and reach Bt2 as subscriptions were more than 4 times the IPO shares available. Its 2Q14 earnings will be positive due to higher trading volume. Management aims to increase asset value to Bt25bn over the next three years. It is preparing to sign an agreement with a large Japanese bank to expand into the consumer finance business. EUREKA

Exclusive representative — EUREKA said that a major company, Vector Japan, has appointed EUREKA as its exclusive representative in India and Indonesia. It is the first and only company in Thailand so appointed. It expects to gain revenue of more than Bt40mn this year. (Khao Hoon, 07/07/14)

FOCUS

FOCUS targets 2014 revenue to be close to last year’s Bt1.1bn supported by its Bt500-600mn in backlog on top of its continual focus on improving efficiency and control costs. Its Bt800mn project Focus Ploenchit is expected to be completed in 1Q15. (Khao Hoon, 07/07/14)

JMT

Expects better performance in 2Q14 from 1Q14’s Bt88.25mn as it has obtained more bad debt to manage. It aims to buy additional bad debt of Bt13bn in 2014 from Bt6.5bn. It is preparing to add an insurance arm, which will start operations in 1Q15. (Tun Hoon, 07/07/14)

Comment: The largest bad debt collector in Thailand today, with continued increased in personal debt levels/debt-gdp levels, whatever metric you look at it, this company is going to continue growing.

SAMART

Subsidiary to build two stations for MEA — SAMART reports that Tada Co. Ltd., 80% held, signed an agreement to construct two small power stations for Metropolitan Electricity Authority on 29 May 2014. (Khao Hoon, 07/07/14)

Comment: SAMART is a mini-conglomerate of sorts, with power stations, retailing of mobile phones, call centers, IT installation etc etc.

SOLAR

Not affected by solar rooftop project revisions – SOLAR says the NCPO’s review of the planned Bt1.8bn in solar roof top projects throughout 74 provinces will not hurt profit, which is supported by flow of work from abroad. It also has Bt2bn in backlog on which it expects to realize revenue over the next two years. It is confident that revenue this year will exceed its target of Bt2bn, growth of over 30%. TUF

Denies rumor of buying Bumble Bee in US worth $US1.5bn but it is looking for another M&A. (Khao Hoon, 07/07/14)

Comment: This was all over the rumour mill last Friday, looks like its not true.  

WHA

WHA may revise 2014 revenue target to more than Bt5.5bn. It said that it is in the middle of negotiating on a new big project. Also it said that the NCPO order of a review on solar rooftops projects will have no effect on it. (Khao Hoon, 07/07/14)
