1Q15 earnings grew 14.6% YoY from sale promotions to Bt1.44bn, EPS of Bt1.75. Sales revenue grew 1.9%YoY because BIGC launched promotional campaigns, especially during Chinese New Year. However, sales revenue slipped in March due to concerns about economic recovery. As a result, same-store sales contracted 0.2%YoY. (Post Today 08/05/15)
Comment: A negative SSSG again for BIGC, either they are losing out to Tesco (Which we doubt) or its just the overall market is far softer given the lower agri prices

4QFY15 to be best of the year – CITY expects 4QFY15 earnings (May-July 2015) to be its highest because of government investment projects that will increase demand for steel. It expects FY2015 (August 2014-July 2015) growth of 10% from FY2014’s Bt767mn. (Thun Hoon 08/05/15)

ML
Japanese firm to do a tender offer for ML at a price of Bt2.2per share. This has been raised from the first tender offer of Bt1.9per share. The objective for this tender offer is to support Japanese investors moving to Thailand and to expand in the leasing market via taking over a leasing firm in Asia via ML. Commercial banks also interested in buying ML in order to expand leasing market share. ML says 1Q15 earnings continued to grow. (Thun Hoon 08/05/15)

1Q15 earnings look good, benefitting from an increase in oil sales revenue which came from rising demand. It targets 8-10% sales growth this year while oil price is expected to move at US$50-60 per barrel. 1Q15 earnings turned to positive due to booking insurance compensation of Bt180mn. It said sales revenue will stand at US$260-290mn. It plans to set up a new factory in a neighboring country. (Thun Hoon 08/05/15)

TPCH released 1Q15 earnings that show a fall in revenue and profit because of an 8-day shutdown of its power plant, raising costs. However, 2Q15 profit is expected to normalize and its yearly revenue to grow 30-40% as targeted. (Khao Hoon 08/05/15)
