BECL forecasts 15% net profit uptick –  BECL expects 15% net profit growth this year thanks to a 4% increase in revenue and higher contributions from its associated companies, Bt480mn in net profit from Thai Tap Water Supply Plc (TTW), Bt50mn from CK Power Plc (CKP) and Bt40mn from Bangkok Expressway Co. EARTH
Negotiations with China — The Chinese economy has started to recover with government stimulus doubling demand in coal. A Chinese entity is negotiating with EARTH to buy ~1mn tons of coal. The negotiations are expected to complete in 2Q14. (Thun Hoon, 25/04/14)

Comment: Every investor I’ve spoken to refers to Earth as a dodgy company, perhaps so, but a company visit is in the works 

LHBANK
Rumors of purchase by Maybank — Maybank Group is rumored to be negotiating to buy LHBANK after the major shareholder, the Asavabhokhin family, has agreed to let a new partner in. The price will be set at 2-2.5x book value. Anan Asavabhokhin has hinted that there is good news for shareholders. (Khao Hoon, 25/04/14)

Comment: Really? We have our doubts. Then again as if that means anything to the average retail investor.

MLINK
M Link completes major restructuring – M Link Asia Corporation, a handset and mobile accessories distribution firm, is resuming its aggressive business activities and planning a major comeback in the highly competitive market after completing its major shareholding restructure. M Link aims revenue growth of 10% this year. Net profit will grow by 20% as its moves into businesses with higher margins. (Bangkok Post, 25/04/14)

PAE
PAE signs contract with Korean partner and will bid for construction of a rail system in 2Q14. It is bidding for new projects worth Bt4bn and will book projects from PTT and Chevron. It said performance was good in 1Q14. (Khao Hoon, 25/04/14)

PICNI
PICNI continues to do M&A with World Gas and will request permission from shareholders at the shareholders’ meeting on June 6. Management says it will buy PICNI shares at a price not more than Bt1 per share from dissenting shareholders. (Khao Hoon, 25/04/14)
