Berli Jucker’s Metro deal stalls – An attempt by Berli Jucker Plc (BJC) to buy Metro Group’s cash-and-carry unit in Vietnam was aborted yesterday after its shareholders voted unanimously to reject the US$655mn (Bt25bn) deal. The rejection was made because minor shareholders were worried that BJC would face high financial and litigation risks to pursue the transaction under the additional conditions related to the payment of the purchase price. Appoints member of NPARK board — BTS group has appointed Mr. Surapong Laoha-Unya to sit on NPARK’s board after the company became the major shareholder of NPARK. It plans to develop land on Phayathai and also a hotel on Sathorn. As for its Roi Chak Saam project, it plans to join hands with three foreign partners. (Khao Hoon, 09/01/15)

EASTW expects water sales to increase by 6% in 2015 from last year of 281mn cum. Management said the recovery in the economy will help increase demand for water usage in all industrial sectors and that the company has also added more communities to increase the sources of water income. Comment: Laos is a natural extension for Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar should, in theory, be as well.

OCEAN
OCEAN expects revenue and net profit this year to grow by 40% supported by its assembly and manufacturing of product parts and an uptrend in faucet sales. It says revenue surged to Bt300mn in 2014. (Kao Hoon, 09/01/15)

Comment: The share performance has been poor since its IPO, which isn’t a surprise, I still wonder how they are able to maintain their margins at such levels.

PS
PS expects revenue to exceed Bt4.5bn in 2014, exceeding its previous target due to higher than expected transfers in 4Q14, bringing net profit to a new high. The company has more than Bt38bn worth of backlog on hand. It has set a land acquisition budget of ~Bt10bn and plans to launch more than 70 projects in 2015. (Thun Hoon, 09/01/15)

PTG says sales this year should exceed 1.9mn liters as the fall in oil prices has spurred demand. It is also undertaking a study on a new LPG product to help increase revenue sources. Its palm complex project worth Bt4.8bn is expected to start operations around 2017. (Thun Hoon, 09/01/15)

PTT
PTT to receive its first lot of 90,000 tons of LNG gas from Qatar to help meet the increasing demand from all industrial sectors. PTT has a long term agreement with Qatar for a period of 20 years to buy 2mn tons/year or ~280 mn ft/day. (Thun Hoon, 09/01/15)

RML
RML: 2015 profit will exceed Bt1.2bn and continue to make new highs, supported by transfers of three projects worth more than Bt6.7bn. It plans to launch one high-end luxury condominium worth Bt10bn. It plans to close the deal on 2-3 office acquisitions with the goal of selling these assets into a REIT in the future. (Thun Hoon, 09/01/15)
Comment: The question for RML is where is their earnings growth going to come from in the future, its a small developer compared to the big boys.

TPCH
TPCH share prices rose 9% to close at Bt13.90/share supported by strong confidence from investors. The company has set a target revenue growth this year of 70%. It said that three power plants will start operations this year and bring total capacity to 40MW by yearend. It revealed that it is in discussions to acquire a business at home and also plants to invest in an hydroelectricity plant in Laos. (Kao Hoon, 09/01/15)
Comment: A slight surprise here, there was no big first day bounce, perhaps the advisors actually listed it all at a fair value this time around

TPIPL
TPIPL cements B6bn debenture issue – TPI Polene Plc, the country’s third-largest cement-maker, says it will issue two tranches of Bt6bn worth of debentures. Chief executive Prachai Leophairatana said the first tranche would be a four-year debenture carrying a coupon rate of 4.85% while the second tranche for five years carries a coupon rate of 5.20%. “The proceeds from these debentures will be used to fund the company’s operations and support investment projects that are being implemented and planned for the future. They will also be used for early financing for debts with high funding costs,” said Mr Prachai. (Bangkok Post, 09/01/15)

TREIT
TREIT will start trading today with a total value of Bt3.425bn. The manager said this is the first REIT to be listed in 2015 and that it plans to pay out dividend at least twice a year. (Kao Hoon, 09/01/15)

VNG
VNG says 2014 profit was highest ever and also higher than analysts’ forecast, supported by its strong performance in 4Q14. Management confirms that the company will start paying dividends. For 2015, it expects the increase in production capacity of its value added products will help support growth as it expects to receive constant flow of orders from property developers. It also plans to set up a new plant to prepare for the AEC. (Thun Hoon, 09/01/15)

WHA
WHA confident it will acquire HEMRAJ shares by the end of March and that it will receive more than 50% of the shares through the tender offer. Further funding will come from a bank loan from SCB and the issuance of 350mn new shares to existing shareholders at a total value of Bt8.938bn. It said that revenue and net profit this year are expected to grow by 100%. (Kao Hoon, 09/01/15)
