FPT VN: recorded, in 5M2024, revenue of VND23,916 bn and PBT of VND4,313 bn (+20% YoY), completing 39% of revenue plan and 40% of profit plan.

PNJ VN: estimated, in May, revenue of VND3,498 bn and PAT of VND136 bn. PNJ recorded, in 5M2024, revenue of VND19,547 bn and PAT of VND1,051 bn (+37% and +8.5% respectively YoY), completing 52.6% of revenue plan and 50.3% of profit plan.

CTR VN: MarketVector Indexes will add two stock codes, CTR and EVF, to the portfolio of MarketVector Vietnam Local Index – the reference index for VNM ETF fund

Comment: This is the latest name where I’m banging my head against the wall…such an obvious play. As the country continues to rollout 4g/5g this is the main player utilised by the SOEs

CTG VN: issued a certificate of deposit product called FLEXI with the minimum face value of VND1 bn. Each customer can buy a maximum of VND30 bn.

HBC VN: plans to issue more than 73 mn shares of private placement to swap the company’s debt with the issuance price is VND10,000 /share. Also, HBC approved the transfer of 100% of Hoa Binh’s capital contribution at Anh Viet Aluminum Glass and Mechanical Joint Stock Company to investors with sufficient financial capacity.

KBC VN: approved the use of 10 mn shares of Mr. Dang Thanh Tam as collateral to fulfill debt repayment obligations for the company’s 2024 loans.

GEX VN: Sembcorp Solar Vietnam Pte Ltd has just announced the completion of the acquisition of the majority of capital contributions in three subsidiaries of GEX in the field of renewable energy.

NLG VN: completed the transfer of 25% of Paragon Dai Phuoc capital to Japanese strategic partner Nishi Nippon Railroad (equivalent to value of VND662 bn).

NVL VN: approved loans to supplement working capital. Specifically, NVL borrowed VND177 bn from No Va My Dinh Real Estate Joint Stock Company and VND115.5 bn from Thanh Nhon Real Estate Joint Stock Company.

Comment: Well……sure let the $ flow around in circles….

PNJ VN: plans to issue more than 3.34 mn ESOP shares, equivalent to 1% of outstanding shares. The issuance price is VND20,000 /share.

SSB VN: is expected to receive $30 mn (VND764 bn) from lender Norfund. This loan can be converted into shares.

  • Vietnam’s exports of phones and accessories hit over $4.4 bn in May, a remarkable increase of 50.6 per cent on-year, according to the General Statistics Office.
  • Fubon FTSE Vietnam ETF has just been approved by the Financial Supervision and Management Committee for the 6th additional capital mobilization amount of TWD5 bn (equivalent to $154 mn – nearly VND4,000 bn).
  • The General Statistics Office last week reported that in the first five months of this year, the two-way trade value between the 27-member EU and Vietnam reached $27.1 bn – up from $23.54 bn recorded in the same period last year.
  • In May this year, about 1.4 mn international tourists visited Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 51%, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
  • Large international retailers including Aeon, Uniqlo, Walmart, Amazon, Safeway, Carrefour, Decathlon, Central Group and Ikea have been visiting Viet Nam seeking partnerships in industrial, agricultural and handicrafts products, said industry insiders and officials.
  • Vietnam had a trade surplus of US$8.62 bn in 5M, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
  • Figures from the Ministry of Construction show that total cement production output is expected to reach 44 mn tonnes for the first half of the year, similar to that of the same period last year.
