ADVANC
AIS says 3G network covers 95% – Advanced Info Service (AIS), the country’s largest mobile operator, says it completed nationwide deployment of its third-generation (3G) network two years ahead of the deadline set by the national regulator. Average revenue per 3G user is 20-30% higher than a 2G customer. AIS expects 75% of its 42 million subscribers to have 3G service this year. As of March 31, AIS had 26 million 3G customers. Comment: Without a doubt ADVANC should be able to maintain their market leadership and once the 3G/4G whatever spectrum investment is done then earnings should jump remarkably in a couple of years.

CPALL
CPALL confirms it will not sell MAKRO shares. It will sell when there is a capital gain and it sees that there is still growth opportunity for MAKRO supported by the growing number of branches and same-store sales growth. It reported 1Q14 net profit of Bt2.7bn, down 15.1% YoY. (Khao Hoon, 08/05/14)

EARTH
EARTH expected to be calculated in the SET 100 in 2H14. Management said this will help attract more investment by foreign investors. Market capitalization for the company has exceeded Bt19mn. (Khao Hoon, 08/05/14)

GLAND
GLAND expects 2014 revenue to exceed last year’s Bt3.45bn. It said it will delay selling its assets into a property fund to 2H14 and also set up a REIT instead. It plans to sell U Place worth Bt2.17bn into the new REIT. (Khao Hoon, 08/05/14)
Comment: Politics has postponed its asset sales plans, the move to a REIT is no surprise given the ability to leverage however the SEC & revenue department haven’t gotten their act together yet on what the policy for REITS will be just yet.

KBANK
KBANK confident loans to large clients will grow 5-7% YoY in 2014 after 1Q14 demand for investment increase to Bt1.3-1.5trn. It also targets an increase in the proportion of revenue from fee income from corporate clients to 47% of total revenue. (Khao Hoon, 08/05/14)
Comment: Fee income is the main growth driver for banks these days.

NYT
NYT plans joint venture with foreign partner to open new port, taking 50%. Theparak Leungsuwan said that NYT will also invest Bt100mn to expand its A5 port. Its board will discuss increasing its holding in CO to 29% from 20%. 1Q14 earnings will be strong in line with high auto exports in March; it expects to post a record-high performance this year. Comment: Its a fantastic business that NYT has, a basic monopoly on car exports.

SAMART
SAMART expects 2Q14 performance to be better than 1Q14, with mobile phone sales reaching 1.1mn units. It also expects to sell at least 1.5-2mn set boxes this year, along with signing a deal with SAMTEL worth Bt1-2bn. (Khao Hoon, 08/05/14)
Comment: The amount of IR this company is doing is ridiculous, but combined with the fact that their businesses are still growing – well no surprise the stock price has moved a lot.
