AIS introduces celebrities app for new revenue – Mobile leader Advanced Info Service (AIS) is extending its chargeable mobile content service in a drive to boost the strength of its non-voice business and increase revenue. AMATA

At work pumping hard — Amata is using 50 boats and 100 water pumps to pump water out of Amata Nakorn IE. It said 17 factories had to close because employees were finding it too difficult to come to work. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)

BKD

Hoping to get Chula hospital job — BKD is planning to bid for the interior design job for Chulalongkorn hospital worth Bt2bn. Bids are to open next month. However, the company is concerned that revenues for the year may not reach its target of 10% growth if work in Myanmar is delayed. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)

MFEC

Says 3Q13 slipped — MFEC admits that 3Q13 earnings will contract due to delays in work, pushing its backlog up to Bt1.42bn, with Bt700-800mn to be booked in 4Q13. The company is also looking to bid for Bt3-4bn worth of work and expects revenues for 1H14 to grow strongly. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)

SOLAR

Gets rooftop solar orders — SOLAR received orders to design and install Solar PV Rooftop for operators that were approved by the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and Provincial Electricity Authority of Thailand (PEA). It said it is the only company in Thailand that produces solar cell films and a fully integrated solar plant with a capacity of 70MW. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)

Comment: Its true that they are the only company in Thailand that produces this however there are many distributors of the same product.

SPALI

Condo completion to build up 4Q13 revenues — SPALIexpects to book revenues of more than Bt5bn in 4Q13 driven by the completion of three condo projects, pushing revenues to hit target of Bt13.5bn. The company plans to open three new projects worth Bt3.6bn and revenues for next year to grow by 15% YoY. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)

Comment: We think the majority of property developers are going to strongly to maintain high growth numbers for next year because of a limited labour pool combined with infrastructure works that will require more labour as well.

THANI

9M13 profits surge 93% YoY — THANI posted 9M13 net profit at Bt610mn, surging 93.18% YoY. The 3Q13 net profit is Bt212mn, huge growth from 3Q12’s Bt14mn. (Khao Hoon, 22/10/13)
