ATP30

EXAT (Expressway Authority of Thailand) retreated as its trade union was against the dispute settlement with BEM. Yesterday, the board did note vote on 37-year extension of toll collection concession. It will set up a working group to study more data before deciding again, then it will call BEM for negotiations. Comment: And BEM’s share price continues to climb despite all this noise

ITEL
ITEL’s management says it is negotiating to be a partner with foreign companies to expand its data center services. It has two data centers and expects the second to generate a revenue surprise this year. It expects total revenue growth of 30% this year as its service offering design, construction and contracting for fiber optics is doing well. (Thun Hoon, 24/1/19)
Comment: The Data center hype is completely dead in Thailand.

NYT
NYT is studying new related business and is negotiating with companies both at home and abroad, hoping to diversify its revenue. It will book a full year revenue from warehouse service this year, pushing revenue up. It plans to increase area rental fee by 8-10% this year. As for its terminal service, it expects the number of customers to increase, supporting earnings growth this year. (Thun Hoon, 24/1/19)
Comment: It helps to have an 80% market share in car exports. I am curious to see how they are going to expand away from this core business because the future of car sales looks bleak given the recent drop in numbers out of the US, Europe and China.

SCC
SCC reports that JBT, a joint venture, acquired 100% of JBC to handle logistics in Cambodia for Bt17mn. The deal is expected to complete this quarter. (Kao Hoon, 24/1/19)

SPRIME
SPRIME REIT continues to purchase new assets. It is confident that the REIT has gotten the attention of investors as the close on the first day of trading was above the IPO price. Singha Estate, trust manager, plans to include Singha Office Complex into the REIT next year, adding asset value of up to Bt10bn to the current Bt5.7bn. It expects asset value to be Bt20bn within five years. (Krungthep Turakij, 24/1/19)

VCOM
VCOM targets record high revenue of Bt2.3bn this year. It says the growth come both from at home and abroad as it was awarded many projects in Myanmar and Cambodia while I-SECURE project at home provides good revenue and earnings. (Thun Hoon, 24/1/19)

  1. Interesting news re Thcom and CAT, my theory is this govt has been eyeing up Thcom for nationalisation for a number of years and after almost regulating this business to death now comes swooping in to buy on the cheap.
