CEI will change its name to “Advance Connection Corporation” (ACC) and plans to invest in alternative energy. Management guides to a turnaround in earnings this year. It plans to build capacity of 20MW in its venture into alternative energy. It will, however, continue to focus on ceiling fans. (ASTV, 13/05/15)

DRT
1Q15 earnings jumped 436.28% from 1Q14 due to efficient marketing locally and abroad. It expects 2Q15 to do even better, backed by government projects. The company also plans to increase its market share in CLMV, which will raise exports to 15%. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)
Comment: While the earnings jump looks amazing, its more to do with the low base last year and not a huge increase in revenue. But the expansion throughout Cambodia and Laos is interesting.

FORTH
Gets MEA projects worth Bt300mn, raising backlog to Bt500mn. It expects to sign the contract soon. The company has budgeted Bt600mn in preparation for more bids. It targets 2014 revenue at Bt4.5bn. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)

Funds interested – The MD says after being listed on mai for over six months, both local and foreign funds have expressed an interest in it. MILL
MILL plans to set up a plant and expand its market to Myanmar which will boost revenue. The firm predicts that the steel plant in Myanmar will lead the industrial trend. The plant is expected to run within Oct 2015. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)

POLAR
1Q15 brought profit of Bt113mn from loss of Bt11mn (+1,167%YoY) from unrealized gain. Its business deal with a company in Europe is expected to finalize within 2 weeks. (ASTV, 13/05/15)

SMPC
SMPC plans to produce a new size of gas tank, 420 litre. This product will have a margin of 20% and raise revenue. 2015 revenue is forecast to rise 15%YoY backed by demand expansion and the baht depreciation. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)

THAI
THAI reports profit of Bt4.5bn backed by tourism sector recovery and economic expansion. Total expense dropped 11.6% thanks to the gradual decrease in oil price. (ASTV, 13/05/15)
Comment: Thai was saved by the bell with the oil price, I’m still looking at more write-off’s coming for Thailand’s national carrier.

TMI
1Q15 revenue was Bt144.69mn (+44.21%YoY), up from 1Q14’s Bt100.33mn. Net profit grew 166.2% to Bt2.7mn from 1Q14 in which it reported a net loss of Bt4.08mn. Sales growth pulled it up into the black. (Khao Hoon, 13/05/15)

TSE
Revenue and net profit are rising gradually. 1Q15 earnings stood at Bt140mn, backed by booking a full year of revenue from solar power. It plans to sell a Bt3bn bond to expand its solar plants both abroad and at home. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)

UAC bidding for solar power plant, to be finalized in May. 1Q15 performance was little changed YoY. 2Q15 profit is expected to jump as a result of booking the revenue from APC. 2015 revenue is set at Bt1.5bn. (Thun Hoon, 13/05/15)
