CPF

Plans to go abroad to produce Asian food — CPF aims to set up factories to produce food for Asians in Europe and the U.S. It plans to set up factories in Belgium, England and the U.S. at an investment cost of Bt2-3bn. It also plans to buy distributors and eventually list on the U.S. stock exchange. (ASTV Manger, 28/10/13)

FVC

CEO expects it to exceed IPO price on first day of trade — Wichit Techakasem, CEO, believes FVC will trade above its IPO price of Bt1.2 per share when it begins trading on October 29, in response to its good fundamentals and the solidity of the food and beverage industry. (ASTV Manager, 28/10/13)

GUNKUL

Partnering with WHA for solar rooftop projects — GUNKUL is partnering with WHA on 15 solar PV rooftop projects with a total capacity of 11 MW. It will sign a power purchase agreement with the MEA this month and revenues should start by end-2013. (Khao Hoon, 28/10/13)

Comment: Gunkul’s #’s haven’t impressed in the past few quarters we doubt this will help either.

JUBILE

Expects good 2H13 — JUBILE said its performance in the second half will continue strong, supported by the launch of its new product collection. It will add new branches to reach 108 branches by yearend. It said revenues this year are expected to reach its target of 20% growth and its deal to open a branch in Indonesia will be concluded this quarter. (Khao Hoon, 28/10/13)

Comment: A wonderful gem of a retail story here. International expansion comes with both positives and negatives and we like the fact that management has decided to look overseas even though its just testing waters for now.

RS

Plans to boost ad rates on satellite — RS plans to increase its ad rates on its satellite channels and radio next year. It reports that its Spanish La Liga soccer league has helped push its sun-box sales up to 50,000 boxes a month and it expects to sell 300,000 boxes by year end. It is planning to bid for a variety channel. (Khao Hoon, 28/10/13)

Comment: One of the main beneficiaries of the Digital TV/Satellite channels that are coming this year. They have the content and now a platform.
