EPCO
EPCO to enter AEC by setting up a JV for power plant. Management said the company expects to set up solar farm in Malaysia and Cambodia due to solid demand and high selling price for electricity. It said 3Q14 was a good quarter, with estimated revenue growth of 30% YoY and net profit growth of 100% YoY in 2014. The company will conclude a 40MW power plant deal in Japan in 4Q14. FSMART
FSMART to start trading on mai on October 14 after it successfully selling all 200mn of its IPO shares. It targets revenues of Bt1.2bn this year, supported by the expansion of Boonterm Kiosk and its services. It expects Kiosk sales of 43k units by the end of the year. (Kao Hoon, 09/10/14)
Comment: I’ve always liked this Boonterm kiosk business by FORTH for years, to me its the key value driver in the entire company with Thailand’s operations performing very well.

JAS
JAS sues TT&T and its 13 partners for Bt6.35bn compensation saying their association is illegal and has delayed JAS’s infrastructure fund setup. The court will hear the case on 9 February 2015. (Kao Hoon, 09/10/14)
Comment: Who will benefit the most from this JAS issue..lawyers…still think JAS is a POS, house of cards, just waiting to crumble.

PT
PT expects record high earnings in 2014 as it continues to obtain new projects in 2H14 from public and private investment in IT, bringing backlog up. It is preparing to enter Laos and Cambodia markets. A subsidiary will start operations in Myanmar in 1Q15, and this company is expected to bid for a networking project in Myanmar. The company is preparing to set up a JV with a Japanese company. It expects revenue growth of 10-15% YoY in 2014. (Thun Hoon, 09/10/14)

PTT signs MOU with partner in Myanmar for power plant development. Management said the company will expand in all ASEAN countries. It expects 3Q14 profit to contract YoY on inventory losses after oil prices sank. It plans to list SPRC on the stock exchange and lower its stake in BCP. (Thun Hoon, 09/10/14)

SIM
SIM says mobile phone sales will surpass its 4.5mn target, supported its mobile phone sales agreement with DTAC, which helped increase demand. It said 3Q14 revenue will beat last year’s Bt2.65bn. It will initiate a campaign for set-top boxes to help spur sales further. (Thun Hoon, 09/10/14)

SMIT negotiating with partner to develop solar rooftop on six factories of 15,000 sqm to reduce electricity cost. The company plans to acquire many companies in 2015. Management says 3Q14 revenue was good, close to 2Q14’s Bt537mn, with 9M14 revenue of Bt1.5-1.6bn. (Thun Hoon, 09/10/14)

Saha prepares for ASEAN penetration – SET-listed Saha Pathanapibul Plc (SPC), the distribution arm of consumer product conglomerate Saha Group, has developed strategies to penetrate the regional market in order to cash in on the start of the ASEAN Economic Community late next year. TSE
Shareholder seeks halt to TSE listing — A minor shareholder of Thai Solar Energy (TSE) has petitioned the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to halt the company’s listing due to several pending lawsuits concerning disputes against the major shareholder. (Bangkok Post, 09/10/14)

VIBHA
VIBHA in deal to acquire or partner with another pharmaceutical company. The deal is expected to be finalized by middle of next year and VIBHA plans to invest ~Bt200mn in it. The company plans to inject more funds a through capital increase of more than Bt300mn in Vibharam Hospital and said earnings in 2H14 will be good. (Kao Hoon, 09/10/14)
Comment: I’m still surprised VIBHA hasn’t been sold off yet, BGH must not have made a strong enough.
