AAV expects no significant impact from the recent oil price rebound although the fuel cost is 35% of total cost. The company already hedged 50% of fuel use for the next six months which is more than the hedging position policy of 30%. (Post Today, 04/02/15)

Comment: This does detract away from the comments that most brokers are making about how AAV are going to benefit tremendously from the decrease in oil prices. Regardless of this fact, AAV is still the best airline play in Thailand today. ‎

AKR

AKR to benefit from government plan to expand power lines to rural areas that will lead to greater demand for transformers. It has the opportunity to win a government project valued at Bt4.0bn and expects to finalize this in May-July this year. It has other potential projects including government power plant, solar project and EPC project. (Thun Hoon, 04/02/15)

BA management says no cancellations after the bomb. It says company should be shielded from the rise of oil price with its 50-70% hedged position of fuel used. (Post Today, 04/02/15)

BEAUTY

BEAUTY to expand abroad, mainly CLMV. It expects to add 12-15 outlets this year (from 16 in 2014).(Thun Hoon, 04/02/15) 

Comment : I have constantly had my doubts on this company but their numbers have consistently proven me wrong. ‎

BJC

BJC does not expect a good consumer product industry this year in view of the slow economy with GDP growth of less than 2.5%. This will lead consumers to tighten spending. (Post Today, 04/02/15)

EARTH

EARTH has received big orders for 2.0mn tons from local power plants and expects to sign the agreements in 2Q15. It expects coal sales of 10mn tons this year supported by increasing demand. (Thun Hoon, 04/02/15)

EASON

Expects 2015 revenue growth of 5%. EASON plans to expand into Indonesia and expects revenue from exports to grow 200% in 2019. It will open a new plant in March.(Thun Hoon, 04/02/15) 

HOTPOT

HOTPOT expects revenue growth of 10% and earnings to turn to profit this year after closing 20 loss-making outlets. It plans to open 10 outlets. To date it has not been impacted by raw material prices. (Thun Hoon, 04/02/15)

PTT‎

PTT to sell BCP stake to Vayupak Fund — Oil and gas conglomerate PTT Plc agreed to sell 15% of its stake in Bangchak Petroleum Plc to the state-owned Vayupak Fund and the remaining 12% will go to other private companies. PTT expects Bt10bn from this sale and will finalize the transaction in 1Q15. (Khao Hoon, 04/02/15) 

Comment: This tells me that no one else saw value in BCP’s shares, or that management were unable to raise financing to buy the stake. ‎

QH

TRIS rates A- rating with stable outlook for QH debenture with total value not exceeding Bt3.0bn. (Khao Hoon, 04/02/15)  

SE-ED

No tender required —Though two brothers in the Chulangkul family own SE-ED shares totaling 32.64%, the SET says no tender offer is required as they are separate entities. (Khao Hoon, 04/02/15) 

SUSCO

SUSCO expects revenue growth at 8-10% this yearand believes oil price contraction is only a short-term impact. The company expects oil price at US$50-60/bbl this year and plans to invest more than Bt200mn into renovation. (Thun Hoon, 04/02/15) 

THAI

Transport Minister: Keep on with transformation as planned — In response to news that the Tourism and Sports Minister plans to discuss retaining THAI’s direct flights from Bangkok to Madrid and Bangkok to Moscow, Transport Minister Prajin Juntong says that the concerns of the Tourism and Sports Minister should not significantly impact Thai tourism and he would like Thai Airways to go on with its transformation plan by cutting loss-making routes. (Thai Rath, 04/02/15)  

EUREKA

EUREKA expects revenues at Bt800mn and earnings turnaround this year. The company views Thailand’s automotive industry has passed the bottom and expects more orders from clients. (Khao Hoon, 04/02/15)  ‎
