Gunkul takes over Japanese operator – SET-listed Gunkul Engineering Plc is taking a major international step by spending Bt4bn to buy and expand Japanese solar farm operator Sendai Okura Mega Solar Godo Kaisha (GK Sendai). “We’re acquiring this company because several countries still have room for growth in solar energy,” chief executive Sopacha Dhumrongpiyawut said yesterday. Srisawad in talks to buy lenders, distressed assets – SET-listed Srisawad Power 1979 Plc (SAWAD) is keen to acquire other retail lenders and branch out into new business by buying distressed assets worth Bt1bn next year in an attempt to boost growth.
