BIG

GFPT
GFPT expects to perform well in 2H17, driven by poultry prices of Bt40/kg. Price is expected to be higher due as competitor countries have been hit by bird flu. (Thun Hoon, 11/9/17)
Comment: This high period will chicken co’s may still last until the end of the year, but the usual story should play out as competition sees these high prices and more supply hits the market..
J
J to invest Bt42bn to buy Casa Lapin. It also plans to set a subsidiary named “Beans And Brown” to oversee the new company. It plans to expand 40 stores in Bangkok. It targets 2020 revenue of Bt360mn. (Khao Hoon, 11/9/17)

SINGER
SINGER expects to turn around due to higher sales and lower NPLs. It expects 2017 revenue growth of +30%YoY due to higher sales. (Thun Hoon, 11/9/17)
Comment: Their NPL’s were pushing 11% in 2Q, I still remember a decade ago them mentioning a 7% NPL is to be expected, with the continued issues around the floods ruining this years rice harvest I’m not sure we’ll see an improvement in their numbers until late 2018.
THAI
THAI will open new route, Bangkok – Vienna on November 16 using a 777-300 ER with 348 seats (42 business seats, 306 economy seats). It will fly four times per week on Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. (Khao Hoon, 11/9/17)
