BANPU has set its five year investment plan at US$557mn, with a focus on the power business. It expects net profit to return to the black this year with an EBITDA of US$500mn. It plans to implement cost control as well as improve production and logistics efficiency. It expects coal price to be better in 2H16 and for the coal business to contribute revenue of US$2.2bn. EPCO reported 1H16 net profit of Bt180mn, up 31%. It will pay an interim dividend of Bt0.08/share and plans to ask board approval for EPCO-W2. SAPPE
SAPPE spent Bt140mn to acquire 40% of “All COCO” which expects to expand its portfolio and provide sustainable growth in the future. It targets revenue of Bt500mn in 2019 and maintains its target of 2016 revenue growth of 15%. (Kao Hoon, 17/08/16)
Comment: I don’t know much about this COCO but it looks like it should add some value to SAPPE according to the market…
 
SOLAR
SOLAR posted 2Q16 net profit of Bt13.56mn from 2Q15 net loss of Bt36.32mn. It expects its performance to be good aided by Bt1.7bn in backlog and its solar farm project. (Thun Hoon, 17/08/16)

TSTH sets FY16/17 steel volume sales at 1.2mn tons or growth of 8-10% due to a focus on the export market, especially Australia and New Zealand. It expects to buy machines to increase its capacity to 120k tons/year. (Kao Hoon, 17/08/16)

UAC reported 6M16 revenue of Bt737mn and Bt79mn in net profit. Its 2Q16 revenue was Bt410mn with Bt58mn in profit, mainly driven by power plants. It plans to expand to ASEAN in 2H16 and to focus on the power business in CLMV. (Thun Hoon, 17/08/16)
