Comment: I am curious to see where else the founder will set up an airport in Thailand. He obviously benefited with the monopoly in Samui, Phuket is likely out of the question, so which other tourist destination could they target?

BAFS
BAFS keeps its 4% petroleum sales volume growth target, supported by the robust tourism sector. The company is confident its fuel pipeline in the north will start up on time (target 2019). It has budgeted Bt4.3bn in capex in 2017. It is now going ahead with Don Muang Phase III. (Thun Hoon, 29/5/17)

CMR expects 1H17 performance to improve YoY from Bt1.66bn in 1H16. It expects is polyclinic project to raise client numbers. The company is confident 2017 revenue will be above Bt3.5bn. (Thun Hoon, 29/5/17)

GENCO is negotiating an M&A deal on an operating power plant, which is expected to finalize by the end of this year. The RDF plant is expected to start up in 3Q17. The company is happy with the government’s support for industrial waste management business. NOK raised Bt1.23bn in equity after existing shareholders purchased 510 mn shares with 114 mn shares remaining. The company will use the money to fund new flight routes. Dr. Somkit Jatusripitak said THAI’s abstaining from this equity raising deal will not impact the airline industry. (Thun Hoon, 29/5/17)
Comment: Lets see if they follow the Thai business model of recapping 1x a decade.

PTTGC
Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance will ask for cabinet approval for the partnership between APOT and PTTGC with an additional capital injection of over Bt1bn at book value of Bt68/share. APOT’s board will hold a meeting to hear the cabinet’s decision. TRC will sign the contract for a potash mine worth Bt31bn in 2H17 with target price of Bt2.16. (Kao Hoon, 29/5/17)

SMART
The supreme court has ruled against SMART. It is to return 7mn shares or Bt21mn in cash, as well as fees and legal expenses worth Bt40bn to its former shareholder after a stock share confiscation. (Kao Hoon, 29/5/17)

TVD expects a turnaround in 2Q17 after losses 1Q17 of Bt10.38mn as it has cuts costs and demand is normalizing. Management expects to burn through the Bt50mn losses carried forward as well as reap benefits from increased contribution by associated companies. It targets revenue of Bt3.99bn in 2017. Comment: There is a problem with the structure of this company, there are too many moving parts for such a small business.

UNIQ
UNIQ expects revenue growth of 10% YoY with Bt30bn worth of backlog and Bt45bn in new projects. The company expects to win a share of the dual-track project from RTAF, the southern Purple Line, and the eastern Orange Line from the MRTA. (Thun Hoon, 29/5/17)
Comment: Whenever the news of bidding comes, this share price (along with every other contractor) will increase and vice versa whenever there are delays.

      • Yeah kaohoon not the most reliable source, I find they constantly make mistakes with facts and figures.

        Samtel and Samart with about 3.5 billion baht of contracts awarded to them in the last 2-3 months, maybe this is a year of recovery, I also see AIS scaling back their device subsidies in Q1 so maybe a positive flow on to SIM as well,

        • I just don’t see SIM recovering, the industry has changed a lot in the past few years, they really only had 1.5 good years, and the smartphone market is saturated.
